Diakon Behavioral Health Services offers a range of counseling and behavioral services to children, teens, families and adult individuals. Services are provided through counseling centers in Mechanicsburg, Lewisburg, Montoursville, Williamsport, within several public-school buildings and Chester County. Specialized programs include family-based mental health services, provided in the community and in-home, addiction counseling, trauma-focused therapy and SPIN, a service designed to assist children and youths who have problematic sexual behaviors.
General Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing and maintaining a professional and supportive relationship with youth and their families as well as providing specialized therapeutic interventions.
- Enhances support and conducts counseling sessions with youth, birth families, referring personnel, treatment providers, and others involved in the lives of children and youth.
- Provides individual, couple, family and/or group therapy sessions
- Works cooperatively with case managers and other treatment providers to meet needs and goals, as established in the Treatment Plan.
Education/Training: A Masters in human services required.
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of experience in related positions normally required.
ADA: Ability to sit, stand, lift, bend, reach, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 lbs.; visual and auditory skills.
