They are currently seeking a certified Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor to join their team in Bakersfield, CA. This is a vital, client-facing role ideal for someone with a heart for service and a strong foundation in addiction treatment.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct program orientation and provide an overview of services and expectations to new clients.
- Facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions that promote client growth, reflection, and behavioral change.
- Develop treatment plans, monitor progress, and maintain accurate and timely client records.
- Coordinate drug testing and submit required progress reports to external agencies such as probation or CPS.
- Ensure compliance with all confidentiality laws (HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2).
- Communicate effectively with team members, referral sources, and external partners.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and supervision as required.
- Maintain personal sobriety and model positive decision-making for clients.
- Report concerns or updates regarding caseloads to the Program Director.
- Provide additional support as needed to fulfill agency goals.
Ideal Candidate Background
- Current certification from a DHCS-approved Substance Use Disorder certification agency (e.g., CADTP, CAADE, CCAPP).
- Solid understanding of addiction treatment principles, client confidentiality, and professional ethics.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse client populations.
- If applicable, must have a minimum of two years of continuous sobriety.
- Valid California driver’s license and current auto insurance (minimum coverage: $15,000 / $30,000 / $5,000).
- Able to pass a drug screening.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (oral and written) is highly preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
