Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Clinical Social Worker (CSW) at Neurish Wellness plays a crucial role in our residential mental health treatment outcomes. Our interdisciplinary psychiatric team prioritizes the clients' needs and involves them in the treatment planning process. As a cornerstone of our clients' success, the CSW shares our passion for enriching and restoring lives. The Primary Therapist will have an immediate impact on our clients’ lives, facilitating excellent client care, helping with improved diagnostics, and improving client outcomes. This candidate must have excellent clinical acumen and succeed in delivering quality care, comfort, and safety that surpasses industry standards in line with our mission, vision, and values. Neurish Wellness operates a series of evidence-based treatment centers for adults struggling with mental health diagnoses & co-occurring issues. At Neurish Wellness, we offer clinically sophisticated mental health treatment for patients suffering from mental illness to restore & change the quality of their lives. Below are some, but not all that is expected as general duties and responsibilities of the Primary Therapist:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct clinical evaluations, biopsychosocial assessments, client diagnosis, and interpretive summaries.
  • Responsible for treatment planning, case management, consultation, education, and referrals as needed.
  • Maintain EMR/EHR (KIPU, etc.) to reflect the course of treatment and provide required documentation.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions including crisis counseling to individuals, groups and families as needed.
  • Facilitate individual psychotherapy sessions and group therapy.
  • Provide services in accordance to the organization’s policies and procedures and established Mental Health and Substance Abuse Standards as well as within the scope of practice of the therapist.
  • Evaluate the individual and family systems as well as assess clients functioning within work, family, and routines of daily living and identify areas needing continued support, resources, and treatment to assist clients.
  • Prepare pre-certification/authorization information to insurance utilization review team and subsequent concurrent review (continued stay) clinical reports per medical necessity criteria.
  • Attend staff meetings, supervisory conferences, training, and other activities, which ensure effective and efficient functioning of clinical operations.·

Qualifications and skills:

  • Individual possesses a Masters-Level Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or equivalent field.
  • Individuals are licensed and in good standing as an LCSW, ACSW preferred (associate level)
  • Current and active registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
  • Hands-on experience in Groups (process, psycho educational, and topic), Family Therapy, Individual Therapy (wide range of modalities accepted), and working with clients with addiction issues.
  • Adheres to Joint Commission Accreditation, DHCS and DSS Licensing and Certification.
  • Proficient in EMR/EHR systems. (KIPU: Front/Back facing)
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding privileged administrative and participant information in a professional manner.

  • Flexibility to work some weekends on call and assist when requested on after hours crisis calls.
  • Successful completion of Criminal Background Check – Ability to clear an FBI/DOJ Live scan
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
