Required Degree: MS or PhD in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field.
The required degree must be completed by the start date.
Experience: The Department of Psychology at Brigham Young University invites applicants of any academic rank to fill a part-time position in the Department of Psychology to begin Winter Semester 2026. The selected candidate will show commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring. Our department values belonging, student mentoring, a collegial culture, and the ideals of open and reproducible research. Prior experience with teaching psychology of gender is preferred.
Duties/Expectations: The responsibility of this faculty member is to teach Psych 306 (Psychology of Gender). Selected candidates are expected to have the knowledge and ability to teach about psychological theories, research findings, and perspectives related to gender. Topics include biological, developmental, social, and cultural influences on gender identity and roles, as well as the impact of gender on cognition, emotion, behavior, and mental health. Candidates should promote critical thinking about gender-related issues within a framework that respects faith-informed perspectives.
This course will be taught as an in person class in the Winter 2026 Semester.
Class will be held in person on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00-9:50 am.
