About Job

Clarity Wellness Community is a progressive not-for-profit organization providing mental health services in Allegany and Wyoming counties. Clarity’s mission is to empower people with care, connections and support for a lifetime of choice. We are currently seeking a full-time Rehabilitation Counselor in our Wellsville PROS program to support adults on their path to wellness.

Rehabilitation Counselors work in a dynamic and person-centered setting providing a variety of counseling, rehabilitation and support services. A few of these responsibilities include:

  • Works with adults (age 18+) who are experiencing mental and behavioral health concerns by providing direct services geared toward achieving recovery plan goals and objectives of PROS participants. Will provide direct services in individual and group modalities to PROS participants enrolled in CRS, Clinic, ORS and IR components.
  • Required to take on-call shifts for the agency’s Crisis Hotline.
  • Become conversant with NYS Codes, Rules and Regulations governing CSSservices and with the NYS Mental Hygiene Law.
  • Act as a positive role model for the treatment team in all aspects, particularly leadership, enthusiasm for teamwork, initiative to attempt new projects, exercising good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Outreach and networking with community providers.
  • Attend/participate in trainings in order to more effectively serve the program and job development.
  • Attend the weekly Staff Meeting.
  • Must meet monthly individual unit expectations, which are distributed at the beginning of each calendar month.
  • Complete Untoward Incident Reports as directed by the Program Director.
  • PROS Counselors work toward increasing a person’s capacity to live independently by facilitating and coordinating with other service providers and natural community supports. Duties may require involvement in community outreach, advocacy, and mediation activities.
  • Identify barriers to participant employment, such as inaccessible work sites, inflexible schedules, and transportation problems, and work with participants to develop strategies for overcoming these barriers.
  • Complete referrals to other community organizations for services such as housing, benefits, care management, etc.

Pay: $61,000 annually

Hours: Full-time 40 hours (Monday-Friday)

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in counseling or related field with at least 2 years experience and current limited permit or LMHC, LCSW, LMSW licensure.
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Experience in providing clinical supervision.
  • Strong computer abilities and proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Valid background clearances with NYS Justice Center and Office of Child and Family Services.

Pay: $61,000.00 per year
