Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Intake Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing patient intake processes, ensuring a smooth transition for patients entering our care. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and administrative support.

Duties

• Manage the intake process for new patients, including collecting necessary information and documentation.
• Review and accept/deny referrals in a timely manner.
• Work directly with facility leadership to streamline admission processes
• Utilize medical coding knowledge to assist with the proper classification of patient diagnoses and procedures.
• Exhibit professional phone etiquette while handling incoming calls from patients and healthcare providers.
• Collaborate with local hospital to ensure good quality experience
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations throughout all interactions.

Experience

• Previous experience in admissions, social services, or marketing is required
• Familiarity with medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare environment.
• Experience working in a skilled nursing facility is required
• Strong customer service skills with a focus on enhancing the patient experience.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated to manage individual tasks efficiently.
