The WCJ offers a supportive environment to its employees. It embraces diversity in the workplace and looking for staff members who are sensitive and aware of the societal issues of women. It is based in Jacksonville and works hard to improve the lives of women through advocacy, support and education and provides rape recovery services for individuals of all genders. The WCJ is the only certified rape crisis center in Duval, Baker and Nassau counties and provides hundreds of forensic exams to sexual assault survivors and their loved ones. The center also offers mental health counseling, community education, and rape prevention services and outreach throughout the community.

JOB TITLE: BAKER COUNTY CONTRACT COUNSELOR

JOB SUMMARY: The Counselor is responsible for providing individual therapeutic counseling services. Assesses each victim’s psychological status and needs in order to evaluate and develop an appropriate treatment plan. Follows systems provided to maintain accurate and efficient records.

CREDENTIALS, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES:

Required:

  • MA, M.Ed., MSW (Psychology/Counseling)
  • Must be able to maintain malpractice insurance
  • Minimum one year experience providing therapeutic counseling
  • Must be licensed in the State of Florida
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
  • Knowledge of a range of counseling and therapeutic techniques
  • Must have own record keeping system and telehealth delivery system

Preferred:

  • LMHC, LSCW

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conduct individual therapeutic counseling services
  • Administer client assessments to evaluate counseling services
  • Recommend treatment programs based upon individual needs
  • Document services and prepares reports as needed
  • Submit client information from each client served
  • Provide information and referral of community resources to clients

RATE OF PAY: The current contract period is through September 30th and includes $67.52 per Counseling service, not to exceed 135.5/ hours of service or $9,148.96. The contract is expected to be renewed on October 1st.

Work Location:

  • Remote, supporting clients in Baker County
  • Candidate may have their own practice and charge The Women’s Center of Jacksonville for services provided to survivors of sexual assault in Baker County per the contract.
