Hours: 1:30 PM – 6:00 PM, Monday–Friday
Job Summary:
The Afterschool Care Counselor is responsible for supervising and engaging children in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment during afterschool hours. The counselor will lead age-appropriate activities, support homework completion, facilitate enrichment opportunities, and ensure the well-being of all participants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise children in classrooms, playgrounds, or other designated areas.
- Plan and facilitate recreational, enrichment, and academic activities.
- Promote positive social interactions and model respectful behavior.
- Provide homework assistance and academic support as needed.
- Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all children.
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident reports.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and fellow team members.
- Assist with setup and cleanup of activities and snacks.
- Follow all school/program policies, including behavior management and emergency procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; 45 DCF Hours Requiered
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Background check and fingerprint clearance required.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
