About Job

Celebrating 50 years providing lifespan services for children and adults with autism, Eden Autism is a nationally recognized program specializing in the support of those with profound autism. We are currently looking to hire a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our clinical team in support of our Adult Day and Residential programs. This position works collaboratively with our clinical, administrative, and program staff to provide a positive environment for our participants to thrive and enjoy adult life.

Our BCBAs provide clinical leadership for Eden’s adult participants, ensuring compliance with state agency regulations and fidelity to Eden best practice standards through training and mentoring of the Adult Services program staff.

MUST HAVES:
Education: Master’s degree in related field.
Certificate: Board Certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA) with no sanctions or disciplinary actions.
Experience: Minimum two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities

Salary starts at $73,000 and is dependent on education and experience.

RESPONSIBILITY SNAPSHOT:
Clinical Leadership and Program Support
  • Assist in creation of learning environments that are supportive of participant needs, using evidence-based practices for intervention purposes.
  • Work as a collaborative team member. Maintain high visibility; develop workable and reliable data collection approaches; provide effective staff training and professional development; provide timely feedback to staff.
  • Consult with Adult Services staff regarding any behavioral issues in the program, other learning environments, or transportation vans. Provide direct support in program through presence on the floor and working with participants. Observe in all programs and learning environments and provide performance feedback based upon results of observations.
  • Attend monthly staffing meetings to provide leadership, direction, and specialized trainings as needed.
Behavior Support Plan Development
  • In conjunction with program staff, develop, update, and annually review and assess individual Behavior Support Plans (BSPs). Coordinate the collection of behavior data, perform required analyses, and create graphic illustrations of data for review by others to assist in monitoring progress. Conduct treatment integrity and data reliability checks as needed.
  • Assist with completion of Functional Behavior Assessments to ensure effective and accountable behavior plans are developed and implemented. Completes 30/60/90-day behavior reviews as necessary.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation to the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), Restraint Review Committee (RRC), Behavior Management Committee (BMC), and Human Rights Committee (HRC) meetings as needed.
Training, Supervision, and Communication
  • Schedule and conduct clinical-related training for Adult Services staff including BSPs, reinforcement systems, and specialized training programs.
  • Assist in providing clinical leadership, oversight, performance feedback, and coaching to graduate students doing field work toward BCBA certification, as needed. Provides required supervision to BCBA candidates as assigned.
  • Maintain Restraint database in conjunction with the Adult Services Administrative Assistant and clinical team.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, squat, kneel, stretch, stoop, and/or reach above shoulder level for extended periods of time (up to 30 minutes) during the workday.
  • Ability to pass and maintain Professional Crisis Management (PCM) certification, including implementation of all strategies and techniques.
Specialized Skills and Knowledge:
  • Expertise with Applied Behavior Analysis. Proficiency with development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of behavior observation systems and data analysis.
  • Ability to implement physical techniques including personal control, crisis, and restrictive procedures as trained; may be required to provide physical assistance and/or prompting to an individual.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to make recommendations for effective and efficient solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as presentation skills.
  • Deadline-driven and results-focused. Ability to multi-task; well organized and detail oriented.
