A K-12 school located in Owasso, OK, is seeking a dedicated Counselor to join their team for the upcoming academic school year on a contract basis. This role is ideal for a professional passionate about supporting the emotional, social, and academic development of students across grades K-12.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students to address personal, social, and academic challenges.
  • Assist students in developing coping strategies, conflict resolution skills, and goal-setting techniques.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement intervention plans.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain confidential records in compliance with school policies and regulations.
  • Facilitate workshops or programs that promote mental health awareness and positive school climate.
  • Refer students and families to community resources when additional support is needed.

Qualifications:

  • Valid counseling certification and licensure appropriate for a K-12 school setting.
  • Experience working as a counselor in an educational environment preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, staff, and families.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development, mental health issues, and crisis intervention strategies.
