- Perform in-depth psychiatric assessments to identify mental health disorders and inform diagnostic decisions.
- Tailor treatment strategies for each patient, drawing from both pharmacologic and psychotherapeutic approaches.
- Provide ongoing medication management and monitor treatment outcomes to ensure patient safety and progress.
- Keep detailed, accurate, and up-to-date clinical notes, maintaining full compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Partner with medical staff, therapists, and case managers to develop holistic care plans that address both mental and physical health needs.
- Engage in relevant professional development opportunities, including certifications, seminars, and post-residency fellowships, to stay at the forefront of the field.
- Strong knowledge of psychiatry principles and practices.
- Proficiency in medical documentation and maintaining accurate medical records.
- Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with addiction counseling techniques is advantageous.
- Ability to conduct thorough patient assessments effectively.
- Understanding of pediatric psychiatry is a plus for those interested in working with younger populations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients and team members.
