Behavioral Health Assessor

Nova Behavioral Health, Inc. is accepting resumes for a* Behavioral Health Assessor*. The Assessment Clinician works under the direction of the Outpatient Manager and is responsible for Diagnostic Assessment/Updates in order to determine appropriate program and Level of Care on clients; and will work collaboratively with the front desk staff and intake staff for facilitating an appropriate admission into Nova Behavioral Health’s treatment services.
In addition, the Assessment Clinician insures that efficient admission policies and procedures are followed correctly, efficiently and ethically.
Shift Information:
Position will be a 1st shift, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
Minimum Education/Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in the treatment of Alcohol/Drug and Mental Health required.
- Bachelors Degree in an appropriate field.
- LPC, LSW, LISW, or LPCC Required
- Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination
The Behavioral Health Counselor will:
- Conducts Diagnostic Assessments/Updates and all pertinent admission paperwork for the determination of the appropriate program and level of care for the client and for the client’s admission into treatment.
- Communicates treatment recommendations, and level of care recommendations to the client and referral sources
- Maintains timely and accurate clinical documentation in an electronic medical record
- Demonstrates competency in clinical assessment, treatment and care for adult client’s diagnostic groups
- Displays insight into the total needs of a client as a person and addresses psychosocial, physical development, spiritual and cultural issues appropriately.
- Exhibits awareness of the developmental and psychosocial needs of the client; interacting therapeutically with tack and sensitivity with each client and his/her support system.
- Communicates professionally and timely with referral sources and collaborating professionals involved with the client
- Upholds a high standard of professional ethics and a respect for privileged communication.
- Follows a regimen for professional growth. Continuously updates knowledge and clinical skills by attending department meetings, clinical supervision conferences and in-service training as required.
- Recommends quality and/or process improvement initiatives to more effectively perform the job functions of this position.
