School Social Worker Key Responsibilities:

• 
  

  Provide social-emotional and behavioral support to students in grades K–5

  
  


• 
  

  Conduct assessments to evaluate students’ emotional and behavioral needs

  
  


• 
  

  Develop and implement behavior intervention strategies in collaboration with school staff

  
  


• 
  

  Support IEP development and participate in multidisciplinary meetings

  
  


• 
  

  Serve as a liaison between school, families, and community services

  
  


• 
  

  Respond to crisis situations including trauma, bullying, and family-related issues

  
  


• 
  

  Help promote a positive school climate and student mental wellness

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain documentation in compliance with Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) guidelines and federal IDEA requirements
