Role Summary:
The Salon Operations Manager (Floating) provides dynamic operational leadership across multiple JUUT SalonSpa locations. This role temporarily assumes full management responsibilities at salons during manager absences such as vacations, illness, leave of absence, or increased business demand. When not assigned to specific salons, the Salon Operations Manager works from JUUT’s central hub, focusing on operational strategy, onboarding new salon managers, mentoring team members, and upholding JUUT’s Daymaker philosophy. The position requires a strategic, adaptable leader capable of quickly integrating with diverse teams while ensuring consistency in service quality, operational excellence, and positive salon culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
- Step into Management roles seamlessly to manage daily operations, ensuring exceptional guest and staff experiences, staffing efficiency, and business continuity.
- Maintain JUUT standards regarding salon cleanliness, visual merchandising, inventory management, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Oversee staffing schedules, proactively managing coverage, productivity goals, and labor costs.
- Assist with inventory processes, product orders, and returns as necessary during salon assignments.
- Collaborate closely with Creative Hub team for facility maintenance, repairs, and operational needs.
Guest Care Excellence:
- Actively monitor and enhance service quality, ensuring guests consistently receive exceptional experiences aligned with JUUT’s values.
- Address guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly, modeling exceptional customer service practices.
- Coach salon staff in guest service best practices, ensuring consistency in interactions and service delivery.
- Foster positive relationships with guests, promoting customer retention and loyalty.
Staff Leadership and Development:
- Provide hands-on training and mentorship for new salon management, facilitating their successful onboarding and integration.
- Offer consistent feedback, coaching, and professional development opportunities for salon teams.
- Model professional behavior, demonstrating JUUT’s Daymaker philosophy through authentic, respectful, and compassionate interactions.
- Document staff performance accurately, collaborate with Human Resources when needed for disciplinary actions, recognition, and ongoing training needs.
- Encourage and support team-building activities that strengthen salon culture, collaboration, and employee morale.
Strategic and Centralized Support:
- Actively participate in strategic initiatives, special projects, and operational improvements in collaboration with the Director of Operations.
- Analyze operational performance, identify trends, share insights, and recommend enhancements across salon locations.
- Coordinate closely with other operational leaders to implement standardized procedures, best practices, and new company initiatives effectively.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of JUUT operational policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:
Required:
- Minimum 3 years of management experience in salon, retail, hospitality, or customer-service-oriented environments.
- Proven experience leading teams, managing operational processes, and maintaining high-quality standards.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effective interactions with diverse teams and customer bases.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different salon environments and team dynamics.
- Comfortable and experienced in coaching, training, and mentoring employees.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, hospitality, management, or a related field.
- Prior multi-location management experience.
- Experience within the salon, beauty, wellness, or related industry.
- Familiarity with salon management software, point-of-sale systems, scheduling tools, and inventory management systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be capable of standing and walking for prolonged periods throughout salon operations.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, squat, and reach for inventory or equipment.
- Must comfortably lift and/or move objects up to 50 lbs. as necessary for inventory or operational needs.
- Excellent vision and hearing required to effectively interact with guests and team members.
Working Conditions:
- Regular travel between various JUUT SalonSpa locations throughout the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area.
- Flexible availability required, including evenings, weekends, and occasional extended hours during peak operational periods.
- Salon environment exposure to hair products, typical salon chemicals, moderate noise levels, and fast-paced, dynamic working conditions.
