If you are looking for a great opportunity to join a vibrant, growing an integrated pediatric practice, we are looking for a Clinical Psychologist (PhD or PsyD) who is passionate, well-trained in pediatrics and value-driven to join our team .Our practice is recognized as a national leader in pediatric population health and medical home integration. Our innovative practice model allows our providers to focus on patient care while our administrative teams provide full support handling billing, collections, contracting, quality improvement and marketing. Ideal candidates will have a passion for working collaboratively to provide comprehensive and compassionate care to our patients - from newborns to adolescents and contribute to our ongoing work in behavioral health integration.

The PhD/PsyD works as an integral part of the multidisciplinary clinics, specialized in understanding, diagnosing, and treating the psychological, emotional, and behavioral needs of children and adolescents. Clinical psychologist may work in the office of Behavioral Health or co-locate at one of our 9 integrated pediatric clinics. Angel Kids is also able to provide remote services through telehealth platforms. The role focuses on toddlers, children, and adolescents experiencing a wide range of psychological challenges, including, but may not be limited to, developmental disorders, behavioral issues, trauma-related conditions, family matters, academic difficulties, and health-related stressors or difficulties.

Duties and Essential Job Functions:

· Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based approaches such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or other modalities suited to the child’s specific needs.

· Address issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral disorders, and coping with life changes such as divorce or loss

· Provide parent education to support families in managing their child’s mental/behavioral health challenges

· Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations, including assessments for autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, psychoeducational evaluations, IQ tests, and developmental disorders

· Conduct child assessments for diagnosis using evidence based tools such as ADOS,

· Collaborate with pediatricians and other medical professionals both internally or within the community to review developmental history and behavior for accurate diagnoses

· Complete and interpret testing results to create individualized treatment plans that improve the child’s quality of life

· Provide diagnosis and recommendations based on outcome of psychological tests/assessments

· Work as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes psychologists, licensed clinicians, psychiatrists, medical doctors, billing, collaborative care coordinators as well as outside community partners linked to the family who can help ensure comprehensive care

· Document in the electronic medical record within the required timeframe established by the department.

· Collaborate with educators and community organizations to support children’s mental health in school and social environments

· Promote preventative care through education and early interventions for families.

License or certification

· Education: PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology with specialization in experience in child psychology.

· Licensure: Licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in Florida.

· Experience: Previous experience working with children and adolescents in clinical settings is preferred.

Qualifications:

· Experience and skill working with pediatric patients at risk for and/or diagnosed with neurodevelopmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder.

  • Ability to provide mental health assessments and therapy/counseling services to patients, extensive treatment planning, brief therapy, trauma-focused, cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral or equivalent; monitor patient’s progress and the effectiveness of medication as directed by the physician

· Expertise in psychological assessment tools and therapeutic techniques, with individual assessment and treatment planning.

· Expertise in diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders.

· Knowledge of regulations and laws relating to clinical psychology practices.

  • Ability to fill out and maintain client-related paperwork, including federal and state mandated forms, client diagnostic records, and progress reports and maintains confidentiality of patient records

· Knowledge of community mental health service delivery systems and other resources.

· Ability to work sensitively with variety of personalities.

· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, including, families, colleagues (e.g. physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other team members), community agencies, etc.

· Understanding of principles of legal documentation and medical records release of information.

· Working knowledge of computer software programs: MS Office and EMR.
