UPMC Orthopedics in Central PA has an exciting opportunity for a Neuropsychologist specializing in Concussion Management to help grow our services within the UPMC Sports Medicine team.


The Neuropsychologist provides evaluation and treatment of individuals who have sustained a head injury from a variety of mechanisms including accidents, falls, assaults, or sports. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with diverse conditions affecting the brain, with a focus on concussion / mild traumatic brain injuries.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

  • Evaluate and treat patients with concussions through a targeted clinical assessment approach.
  • Provide individualized concussion management treatment plans to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team that includes physical therapy and sports medicine, as well as multidisciplinary across departments including neurology and psychiatry.
  • Educate patients and families on a variety of topics related to concussion care

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

  • Doctoral degree in clinical psychology from an APA/CPA accredited program with an APA/CPA approved clinical psychology internship
  • Two-year formal post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology
  • Fellowship or experience in concussion management is required.
  • Current/eligible licensure under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
  • Early career neuropsychologists are encouraged to apply
