We seek a dedicated and compassionate Refractive Surgery Counselor to join our esteemed refractive surgery practice. As a Refractive Surgery Counselor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional patient experiences from the moment they enter our facility until their successful post-operative care. Key Responsibilities:
Patient Liaison:
Greet patients warmly, ensuring they feel welcome and comfortable.
Address patient inquiries, concerns, and requests professionally and empathetically.
Provide clear and concise information about refractive surgery procedures, pre-operative instructions, and post-operative care.
Assist patients with the completion of necessary paperwork and documentation.
Scheduling and Coordination:
Coordinate patient appointments, surgeries, and consultations based on physician availability.
Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless scheduling and efficient patient flow.
Confirm appointments and provide necessary reminders to patients regarding appointments and preparation guidelines.
Pre-Operative Support:
Educate patients about pre-operative testing and the day-of-surgery process.
Assist patients in understanding and completing pre-surgery paperwork.
Ensure patients clearly understand the surgical process and address any anxieties.
Post-Operative Care:
Provide detailed post-operative care instructions to patients, including medication schedules, eye care routines, and follow-up appointments.
Follow up with patients after surgery to inquire about their recovery progress and address any concerns or complications.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Assist patients through the financial aspects of their care.
Contribute to administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience in a customer service or patient-centered role is a strong asset.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on empathy and active listening.
Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail in managing appointments and administrative tasks.
Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer applications.
Ability to remain composed and maintain a positive attitude in high-pressure situations.
Understanding of medical terminology and basic knowledge of refractive surgery procedures is advantageous.
