Summary:

The Learning and Development (L&D) Specialist for (SFRC) plays a key role in designing, delivering, and evaluating employee training and development programs that support the organization’s strategic goals and workforce needs. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, this position supports clinical and non-clinical staff across the SFRC organization, fostering a culture of continuous learning, performance improvement, and professional growth.


  

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and facilitate comprehensive orientation sessions for all new hires, ensuring a smooth integration into SFRC’s culture and processes 
  • Coordinate onboarding activities, initial training schedules, and access to necessary tools and      resources
  • Conducting needs assessments and identifying skill gaps
  • Organizing onboarding sessions and ongoing learning initiatives for employees
  • Regularly update and enhance orientation materials to reflect organizational changes and best practices
  • Lead the 90-day training programs for new employees, ensuring alignment with SFRC’s policies, procedures, and mission.
  • Manage and optimize the Learning Management System (Relias) to schedule, assign, and track training programs
  • Monitor staff compliance with required training and follow up with employees and supervisors to address gaps
  • Generate detailed monthly training reports and dashboards for the VP of HR and Leadership team to assess organizational competency and compliance
  • Serves as the primary liaison in consultation with VP of HR with outsourcing training firms to implement specialized training programs 

Training Design & Delivery

  • Develop and implement effective learning programs including onboarding, clinical and compliance training, soft skills, and leadership development.
  • Maintains and updates SFRC training calendar
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions for individuals and groups across the organization.
  • Partner with department leaders to identify training needs and deliver targeted solutions.

Learning Strategy & Program Management

  • Assist in the development and execution of the organization's learning and development strategy.
  • Manage and track training programs, certifications, and continuing education requirements for various roles within SFRC.
  • Maintain and enhance the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring content is accurate and   accessible.

Evaluation & Improvement

  • Measure training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and performance outcomes.
  • Analyze learning data and provide reports to leadership with insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Revise and update training materials based on feedback and regulatory changes.

Compliance & Accreditation Support

  • Ensure training programs align      with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and internal      policies.
  • Coordinate mandatory annual      training and ongoing clinical education for licensure and credentialing.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate with clinical      educators, department heads, and HR partners to support learning goals      across disciplines.

Provide coaching and resources to managers on staff development and performance support. 


  Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in learning and development, training coordination, or instructional design—ideally in a health care or hospital setting.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and training evaluation methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Relias is highly preferred).
  • Knowledge of health care compliance, accreditation standards, and continuing education requirements is a plus.
