Job description:

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic, 1:1 environment dedicated to helping achieve their goals, either in the community or at home. We are looking for someone who is passionate about Music therapy, working with the special needs population, and can bring their enthusiasm and energy to our team. MH Therapies has been providing therapeutic services in Texas for over 8 years as a contractor-based service network on a state waiver program.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with children/teen/adults with disabling conditions by providing therapeutic services at home, 1:1 setting.
• Perform thorough evaluations to assess clients’ individual needs of each client and set measurable objectives.
• Plan, organize, and facilitate musical interventions intended to improve physical, cognitive, emotional, and social functioning.
• Monitor progress and adjust to treatment plan accordingly.
• Document weekly, quarterly, and annual progress for clients’ treatment plans, recognize/initiate discharge and discharge planning as needed.
• Communicate with family members treatment plan goals, objectives, and progress.
• Assist the client in understanding their strengths, needs, and limitations.
• Apply professional knowledge and skills in accordance with accepted standards of clinical practice.
• Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct and ethics.
• Attend, participate in, and/or conduct internal staff development programs. Obtain continuing education as required by company policy. Maintain and enhance clinical practice skills.
• Perform supplemental duties as assigned according to client, office and/or program needs.

Qualifications

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in music therapy

Must hold MT-BC credential through Certification Board for Music Therapists.

Ability to engage clients of all ages and functioning levels.

Proficiency in computer use, independent organization and self-management, and communication skills

Must be willing to travel (25%) and have reliable transportation.

CPR certification required on the program, must be willing to obtain.

Experience:

At least 1 year of experience in independent contracting is desirable but not required.

No experience necessary in contracting. We provide tools, and onboarding to get you acquainted with the programs system and process along with guidelines, policies and procedures.

Pay: $60.00 per hour
