Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Counselor to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals facing mental health challenges, assisting them in their recovery journey. You will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals in a hospital setting to promote mental wellness and enhance patient care.
Duties
- Assist in the implementation of treatment plans under the supervision of licensed mental health professionals.
- Provide direct patient care, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Engage patients in therapeutic activities and monitor their progress.
- Conduct behavioral therapy sessions and support case management efforts.
- Facilitate child family counseling sessions as needed.
- Utilize cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to aid in patient recovery.
- Employ motivational interviewing strategies to encourage patient participation in their treatment.
- Document patient interactions and progress accurately in electronic health records.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss patient care strategies and treatment outcomes.
- Support telehealth initiatives by assisting with virtual therapy sessions when required.
Qualifications
- A background in psychology, social work, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in a hospital or clinical setting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with behavioral therapy techniques and psychotherapy practices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients and families.
- Knowledge of case management principles and practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
