CEO/President of a mental health counseling practice looking for a partnership with an established Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker LCSW at a growing private practice in Woodbridge, VA and Manassas, VA. We are a fun and diverse group of helping field professionals seeking to make a difference!

we are not your average Therapist office. We don’t charge $200-350 a session. We are very passionate to serve the members of our community and believe wholeheartedly that mental healthcare should not be a luxury that only the very rich can afford. We use therapist friendly software in an all electronic system designed to quickly reduce your time writing, and devote more energy to therapy and home life!

We have great referral sources and an admin and advertising team to help you maintain full time work (25-35 clients per week)

Desirable but not required: ability to share an office, being able to speak other languages fluently!

Position Requirements

  • Must be a licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
  • Must hold and maintain a current, unrestricted license in Virginia
  • A strong desire to serve VA residents of all backgrounds, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, etc
  • Minimum of 2 years’ clinical experience in a mental health care setting is required, with clinical mental health experience preferred
  • Must have knowledge and experience in the identification and treatment of mental health and co-occurring substance abuse disorders, discharge planning, principles of social work/counseling/family and marriage counseling, basic principles of individual and group behavior, suicide risk assessment, and some crisis de-escalation techniques.

Position Responsibilities

Counselors may be responsible for one, multiple, or all of the following duties:

  • Assessing mental health conditions and disorders
  • Providing psychotherapy, utilizing treatment approaches that evidenced based practices, frequently used and well regarded by professionals in the helping field
  • Suggesting courses of treatment, help adjust them as necessary and review results
  • Offering brief courses of targeted treatment for a single issue, such as the death of a loved one or an assault
  • Occasional crisis intervention
  • Diagnosing tough cases and advance psychopathology, or the scientific understanding of mental disorders
  • Possibly providing counseling to a wide variety of groups
  • Helping people improve their lives, careers and family situations
  • Helping parents revamp their homes and lifestyles to regain control of children who may have been removed by the state
  • Creating safe social and cultural communities in which children, adolescents, adults and the elderly can feel they can work on complex, multilevel issues including identity and cultural issues
  • Managing paperwork: being responsible for all your own paperwork and having the ability and agreeing to complete treatment notes within 24 hours
  • Working in collaboration with other Counselors within the practice for everyone’s benefit
  • other duties include keeping one’s office and work space neat, tidy, free of dirt or grime, managing your own work schedule, basic advertising, and submitting billing statements to the Owner/director
