Beavercreek City Schools is seeking a:
Dean of Students (Ankeney Middle School)/Prevention Counselor (District)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess a valid Ohio Educator License that encompasses Grades 6-8

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Partial List)
- Addresses administrative issues that arise during the absence of the principal (Dean of Students)
- Maintains high standards for student conduct. Enforces the student conduct code (Dean of Students)
- Helps teachers with discipline issues. Prepares student conduct reports (Dean of Students)
- Encourages community partnerships that enhance district programs and services (Prevention Counselor)
- Teaches students to recognize proactive problem resolution strategies, positive friendships and healthy social activities (Prevention Counselor)
- Facilitates targeted intervention and prevention support for students (Prevention Counselor)
- Facilitates behavior support plans for students (Prevention Counselor)
- Helps students and staff find and use appropriate prevention and intervention materials (Prevention Counselor)
- Helps supervise building activities (e.g., student arrival/departure, loading buses, parking lots, lunch periods, hall duty, early dismissal, student detentions, etc.) (Dean of Students)
Implements procedures to protect school property and help ensure the health, safety, and well being of students, staff, and visitors (Dean of Students)
Certification/Licensure: All applicants must possess a valid Ohio Certificate/License in the appropriate areas.
Science of Reading Information
Beavercreek City Schools is committed to meeting the requirements of the State of Ohio as outlined in Ohio Revised Code 3313.6028 requiring districts to use the science of reading for literacy instruction. "Science of Reading" is defined in the law as an interdisciplinary body of scientific evidence that informs how students learn to read and write proficiently. Any employees new to the district will be guided on what professional development to complete based on your teaching assignment and a timeline for completion.

The starting salary from the approved teacher salary schedule ranges from:
Bachelor's Degree: $46,552 to $70,936 based on prior teacher verification, experience, and training
Master's Degree: $52,571 to 85,963 based on prior teacher verification, experience and training.
Included in the contract is a competitive benefits package which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance as well as paid Personal Leave and Sick Leave.
184 Day work days per year.
New Staff Orientation: August 6, 7, 8, 2025. First work day August 12, 2025
