Description of Duties:
  • Provides care to individuals, families, groups, and communities, assessing their mental health needs.
  • Offers primary care services to the psychiatric-mental health population (assess, diagnose, and treat individuals and families with psychiatric disorders or the potential for such disorders using their full scope of therapeutic skills, including the prescription of medication and administration of psychotherapy.)
  • Provide quality care with maximum patient comfort and safety in the office setting.
  • Carry a case load of patients for ongoing care and evaluations.
  • Meet regularly with patients to diagnose mental disorders or assess a patient's response to treatment.
  • Prescribe medication or suggest therapy according to the patient's needs.
  • Participate in the CORNERSTONE Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement programs in order to achieve organizational goals.
  • Complete all patient medical forms including disability, medical clearance, etc. on a timely basis.
  • Attend and participate in monthly department, All Staff and other required meetings.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to all clinical, administrative, and general policies and procedures as outlined in the CORNERSTONE Policy and Procedure Manual and Employee Handbook.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all aspects of CORNERSTONE including, but not limited to, patient confidentiality, financials, and employee relations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer


Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited medical school with a New York State license to practice medicine
  • Must be Board eligible with the expectation that will become Board Certified in given specialty within five (5) years of hire
  • New York State License to practice medicine
  • Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Certificate
  • Group practice experience a plus
