School Social Worker Full-Time Walker, MI

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a compassionate and qualified School Social Worker (SSW) for a full-time, on-site position in a welcoming and supportive school district located in Walker, Michigan. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to support the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of K12 students within a collaborative educational environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students experiencing emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges

• Conduct student assessments and collaborate closely with school staff and families to develop effective, individualized support plans

• Participate in IEP and 504 Plan meetings, providing social-emotional insights and intervention strategies

• Work with families, school personnel, and community agencies to ensure comprehensive student support

• Assist with crisis intervention and contribute to fostering a safe and positive school climate

• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with Michigan state and district policies

Qualifications:

• Current School Social Worker License or Approval through the Michigan Department of Education

• Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program

• Experience in school-based or youth mental health settings preferred

• Strong communication, collaboration, and case management skills

• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered advocacy

• Ability to support students from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
