About Job
Our company is looking to hire male residential counselors to work in male group homes in the Plymouth area.
- Provide hands-on assistance to individuals in required areas of daily living (ADL’s and IADL’s).
- Ensure that the human, civil and legal rights of all individuals are protected. Follow DPPC and mandated reporting guidelines. Teach and promote dignity, respect, making informed decisions and reasonable risk with individuals.
- Maintain the safety and security of the group residence during daytime/overnight hours. Implement emergency plan procedures to maintain safety and support for individuals served when necessary.
- Have knowledge of and be competent in implementing all special protocols, positive behavior supports, and/or therapy plans for all individuals served
- Complete all documentation including but not limited to shift notes, incident reports and protocol documentation
- Be punctual for all shifts and be able to work at other locations as assigned by supervisor
- Other duties as assigned by management
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate's degree in a human service discipline preferred.
- One year as a residential counselor in a setting working with Persons Served facing mental health challenges preferred.
- Ability to make independent judgments and decisions
- Ability to work in a professional and confidential capacity
- Must become CPR, First Aid certified within 2 weeks of employment and Safety training within 150 days of employment.
- All candidates must be able to successfully pass a CORI, reference, multi-state background and driving record check.
