General Purpose
Supplies labor for the transport of fish and various maintenance activities associated with generation support facilities, including parks and recreation facilities.
Responsibilities
- Operates a fish transport truck.
- Performs general power plant, waterway, and substation maintenance work.
- Operates and drives all equipment, not classified as heavy equipment at the Hydro Plants. - --- Operates a tugboat for the purpose of removing log debris on the reservoirs, and positioning log booms and bouys.
- Operates loaders of ¾ yard capacity or less.
- As a state certified applicator, applies herbicides and pesticides.
- Performs non-licensed electrical work such as replacement of light switches and heater elements.
- Uses chain saw for tree removal.
- Assists Hydro Mechanics in unit repairs, to include overhauls, large and small maintenance, and crane inspections
- Works as a Hydro Utility Worker when not operating a fish transport truck.
Requirements
- High School Diploma and one year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CDL with tanker endorsement or ability to obtain CDL with tanker endorsement within six month of hire date, via PacifiCorp provided training.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Mechanical understanding of bearings, lubrication, hydraulics, and moving machinery.
Preferences
- Experience with light mechanical repairs
- Carpentry experience
- Home plumbing repair experience
- Experience manually cleaning in confined spaces
- Experience using a high power pressure washer
- Experience using heavy equipment operations, such as but not limited to: Hydraulic excavator, tractors, skid steers, 1.5 ton trucks and heavy equipment trailers
- Experience using weed eaters, leaf blowers, back hoe, snow plows, dump trucks
- Confined space experience
- Maintenance helper experience
- Experience with sanitation cleaning of public facilities
- Experience with maintenance of camping facilities
- Brush cleaning experience (general Power Plant related to a Hydroelectric Facility)
- Basic computer skills associated with Microsoft M365: Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook
- CDL or CDL with Tank endorsement
- In addition, ATV licenses and/or boat safety card
