Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) is Michigan’s largest public education system, governed by a locally-elected, seven-member board with Dr. Nikolai Vitti as superintendent. This is a full-time, on-site role for a Counselor located in Detroit, MI. The Counselor will be responsible for providing academic guidance, career counseling, and social-emotional support to students. Daily tasks will include conducting individual and group counseling sessions, developing educational plans, collaborating with teachers and parents, and addressing student needs to ensure their overall well-being and academic success.
- Skills in academic guidance and career counseling
- Experience in providing social-emotional support and conducting individual and group counseling sessions
- Ability to develop educational plans and collaborate with teachers and parents
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in educational settings is preferred
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
- Valid state certification or licensure as a school counselor
