GENERAL OVERVIEW
Performs basic clinical and administrative functions to support genetic counseling and risk assessment for individuals at risk.

Job Description
GENERAL OVERVIEW
Performs basic clinical and administrative functions to support genetic counseling and risk assessment for individuals at risk.
Essential Responsibilities
- Creates and updates patient pedigrees in risk assessment software. (20%)
- Assists genetics counselors in communication of normal test results to patients and physicians. (20%)
- Administers patient intake forms and completes family histories. (20%)
- Retrieves patient MR, scans EHR, performs maintenance on genetic counseling data. (20%)
- Assists with the creation of patient education, lecture and seminar materials. (10%)
- Assists in clinical investigations by performing literature searches. (5%)
- Performs other duties assigned. (5%)
Minimum
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Current or planned enrollment in an accredited Master of Science in Genetics Counseling program
- Bachelor's degree in genetics/genetics counseling, biology, psychology, chemistry, or other health/science related field
