IU INDY LUDDY INFORMATICS (IN-INFO-IUINA)

The Assistant Director of Admissions and Recruitment is responsible for managing the graduate admissions cycle for the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering. This individual will implement and evaluate programs and processes to attract students to our online and on-campus programs.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, implements, and participates in admissions-related initiatives that serve to advance the graduate enrollment goals of Luddy, working collaboratively with Luddy leadership, faculty and staff involved in graduate education.
  • Coordinates with international entities including IU Gateways, Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), and international recruiters.
  • Develops and implements a communication plan for applicants and utilizes our CRM.
  • Determines candidate viability in the program, facilitates faculty review, and prepares admission and denial letters to applicants.
  • Liaises with Luddy financial office and human resources regarding student decisions, hourly employment, and scholarships.
  • Represents Luddy to prospective students and the public through an array of in person or virtual outreach programs and activities, including but not limited to the following: visiting college classrooms, attending college fair programs, conferences, and other assigned outreach initiatives.
  • Participates in recruitment efforts including information sessions and representing Luddy at on and off-campus events.
  • Supervises and trains graduate ambassadors and part-time application processors; Evaluates their performance, recommends modifications, and provides direction for both short-term and long-term planning.
  • Collects, analyzes, and utilizes data to inform application processes, recruitment and outreach strategies and decisions; including monitoring current processes with our peer graduate programs and evaluating successes and failures of previous campaigns qualitatively and quantitatively with the Director of Graduate Affairs.
  • Prepares, interprets, and presents reports and summaries of recruitment and yield activities.
  • Communicates admission policies and procedures to prospective students.
  • Provides assistance and advice in relation to the admissions process.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

General Responsibilities

  • Maintains, implements and oversees a holistic recruitment yield tactical plan for recruitment.
  • Develops, implements, and administers plans, programs, and events for general and targeted student recruitment in support of organizational goals.
  • Integrates a diverse and strategic communications strategy in collaboration with other departments, geared toward specific student declared academic major, career interests, and geographic factors.
  • Identifies and develops partnerships for outreach to prospective students and influencers.
  • Interprets academic policies and exercises authority and independent judgment.
  • Plans, implements, and evaluates programs and processes and determines the effectiveness of markets and strategies. Exercises independent judgment and uses census data and modeling tools to identify effective marketing plans and strategies to address specific populations.
  • Serves in a collaborative role with internal and external stakeholders to identify targets of opportunity to attract and enroll under-represented populations. Participates in the assessment and evaluation of various models.
  • May attend meetings or serve on committees with the admissions stakeholders, including all staff meetings, recruitment, and outreach team meetings, customer service lead meetings, and undergraduate recruitment council meetings; may provide guidance to other admissions counselors.

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. Non-standard hours and travel will be required.

This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule (mix between 1 day remote and 4 days in-person work), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.

$43,888.00 - $59,622.00 per year based on experience
