StraCon Services Group, LLC is seeking a Senior, Research Psychologist, in Corpus Christi TX, to assist in the research on human cognition and performance as a means to modernize the delivery of education and training.NAWCTSD is the Navys principal center for modeling, simulation and training systems technologies.The Senior Research Psychologist will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Essential Job Duties:
- Lead Data-driven, user-centered design/human systems integration throughout product lifecycles, including user interface design and project management to support usability driven product enhancements.
- Evaluation and analysis of user safety and performance within operational contexts, to include analysis of user needs, user experience perceptions, and user trust in systems.
- User interface design and development with a focus on graphic design, including wireframing and rapid prototyping.
- Program management experience to include requirements development, system test and evaluation (e.g., compliance testing), planning and executing user-based research.
- Awareness of and experience with network security requirements and impacts to program feasibility and transition.
Other requested skills/experience/abilities:
- Application of psychological principles and theories for the improvement of training, education, and human performance.
- Product experience with user experience design software such as Adobe XD and/or Miro.
- Planning, development, and execution of systematic research in the areas of human performance, cognition, human factors, training, and education.
- Apply standard human factors methods for qualitative user data collection and analysis, including user personas, journey maps, task analysis, usability testing, scenario building, use cases, and heuristic evaluation.
- Collection and analysis of human performance and cognition data.
- Leads the development of research proposals as well as reports of findings for professional distribution (e.g., professional journal or conference publication).
Travel Requirements:Some required travel as needed.
Experience Requirements:
- Candidate must have approximately 10 or more years of experience with human cognition research and performance studies.
- Project management experience to include familiarity with project tracking and milestone software.
- Experience with artificial intelligence and unmanned systems.
- Experience conducting research to include preparation of experimental protocols through running the experiment, cognitive task analyses, training effectiveness evaluation, and can
- Statistical analyses in SPSS/R/Python/MPlus/MAXQDA
- Product experience with wireframing software such as Figma.
- Experience with human subjects interaction, including interviews, focus groups, and field observation.
- Requires basic knowledge of experimental design and research methods.
- Statistical analysis, specifically: parametric statistics and Bayesian Inference.
- Writing papers in APA format.
- Experience with the IRB process.
- Ability to communicate verbally with clarity and correct grammar and mechanics.
- Desired: Possess knowledge or at least familiarity of training systems, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Military Standards, and DOD/DON/NAVAIR policies, directives, and instructions and documents to assignments.
- Requires knowledge of experimental design, research methods, and advanced data analyses.
- Ability to communicate verbally with clarity and correct grammar, and mechanics.
Education Requirements:
- Ph.D. or Masters degree in Psychology.
Security Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
