JOB SUMMARY: William Penn University (Iowa) announces a full-time, nine-month tenure-track position in Psychology commencing August 2025. A Ph.D. in Psychology or a related discipline is preferred, although MA/MS shall be considered. Teaching experience focused on student engagement and learning, and the ability to connect with and inspire students, is highly desired. Screening begins immediately and continues until the position is filled.

Courses include Introduction to Psychology, Lifespan Psychology, Social Psychology, Personality, Learning, Experimental Psychology, and Neuropsychology. Twelve credit hours per semester.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide an education with a Leadership and Technology focus, and enliven that provision through adherence to the Quaker principles of simplicity, peace-making, integrity, community, and equality.
- Represents the College in a positive manner with prospective, current, and former students, employees, and the community.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a positive attitude in meeting and dealing effectively and courteously with students, other personnel, and all members of the community.
- Interprets departmental and/or college policies and procedures.

- Develop and teach a variety of courses across the Psychology curriculum.
- Construct lectures, demonstrations, assignments, and enrichment activities to successfully deliver course content in both in-person and online settings.
- Integrate learning management systems and modern classroom tools into teaching* Serve as an academic advisor and maintain regular office hours for advising students.
- Attend divisional meetings and faculty meetings, as well as cooperate with faculty colleagues.
- Participate in events and initiatives aimed at meeting recruitment and retention goals.
- Serve on committees, sponsor student activities, commencement programs, divisional meetings , and other meetings; and otherwise participate in University life.
- Maintain a strong interest in the pursuit of knowledge and share it with students and scholars.
- Promote the discipline on and off campus and attract students to the field.
- Identify with professional organizations and professionals of the discipline at all educational levels.
- Assisting in recruiting new Faculty members within the academic unit.
- Assist in the preparation of requests for foundation grants.
- Assist students by continually monitory and evaluating students’ progress and making progress appropriate referrals to academic and personal support services, as necessary, to meet student need.
