About Job

Faulkner University is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Recruiter/Admissions Counselor for the Birmingham Extension Center. The selected individual will recruit students for Faulkner's adult and executive programs and serve as an advisor, counselor, and interpreter of the University's policies to individuals seeking admission. Faulkner University is a Christian university affiliated with the churches of Christ.

This is a full-time (40+ hours per week), 12-month position.

Summary of Duties:

  • Provide immediate and frequent follow up with prospective students and applicants by phone and email
  • Advise students regarding academic requirements and degree plans; evaluate transcripts and calculate GPAs
  • Develop recruiting plans for obtaining students in the adult and executive programs
  • Schedule and hold recruiting functions; make presentations to groups
  • Make outside calls to businesses, community colleges and other organizations each month
  • Routinely participate in Chamber of Commerce and other professional events
  • Travel as necessary for recruiting, registrations, public relations and training

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; experience considered in lieu of desired education
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Workspace
  • Active member of the church of Christ
