Our clinicians provide healing support for people across all communities, specializing in work with religious persons (including post-religious, faith expanding, and religiously traumatized individuals).
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Pre-Licensed or Licensed Therapist (LMFT/MFTC, LPC/LPCC, LCSW, or comparable) to join our team as a 1099 Independent Contractor.
Position Overview
As a therapist at Sovereignty Counseling Services, you will provide individual and group therapy, case management, and consultation services virtually via a HIPAA-compliant SimplePractice EHR platform. Services and Responsibilities
- A full-time clinician provides individual therapy, group therapy, case management, and consultation services for a caseload of 20 or more clients per week.
- A part-time clinician provides individual therapy, group therapy, case management, and consultation services for a caseload of 12 or more clients per week.
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation and progress notes (within 48 hours).
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant office spaces and adhere to clinical best practices.
- Report suicidal or homicidal ideation, or crisis information, to Annette Brown, LMFT.
- Communicate scheduling needs and clinical consultation information with the office/billing manager.
- Experience with trauma-focused therapy, religious trauma, or working with spiritual/cultural diversity or an area of interest is preferred for the ideal candidate.
- Optional: Participate in review of clinical notes, social media campaign support, and community events.
Compensation
This is a commission-based 1099 position. Earnings are based on a percentage of income generated from sessions:
- Tier 1 (0-9 Clients): 50% of insurance contracted rate or self-pay rate
- Tier 2 (10-19 Clients): 55% of insurance contracted rate or self-pay rate
- Tier 3 (20+ Clients): 60% of insurance contracted rate or self-pay rate
- Group Therapy: Split 50-50 when co-facilitated, or 65-35 when primarily facilitated by one party.
- Payment occurs twice monthly (15th and 30th) based on received payments.
Example Earnings:
- At 10 clients/week (Tier 2), earning roughly $100 per session, a therapist can expect approximately $550/week (~$2,200/month) or roughly $26,400/year before taxes.
- At 20 clients/week (Tier 3), earning roughly $100 per session, a therapist can expect approximately $1,200/week (~$4,800/month) or roughly $57,600/year before taxes.
Qualifications
- Licensed LMFT, LPC, LCSW, or comparable credential in the state of Colorado.
- Maintain professional liability insurance of $1,000,000 individual / $3,000,000 aggregate.
- Maintain required continuing education and licensure.
- Commitment to high clinical and ethical standards.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Ideal candidate has experience with trauma-focused therapy, religious trauma, or working with spiritual/cultural diversity.
Availability & Scheduling
- Must be available for a minimum case load of 12 clients per week.
- Willingness to offer evening or weekend availability (as needed) to accommodate client scheduling constraints.
- Maintain a predictable schedule for clients and colleagues.
Supervision & Support
- Weekly supervision available for full time pre-licensed clinicians at $75/hr.
- Bi-Weekly supervision available for those with part time case loads at $75/hr.
- Additional supervision available for a fee ($60 per hour), if needed.
Contractor Status
This is a 1099 contractor role, not an employee position. As such:
- No employee benefits (e.g., medical, vacation, unemployment).
- Contractor is responsible for self-employment taxes and providing equipment (computer, internet).
- Must adhere to clinical policies and standards set forth by Sovereignty Counseling Services.
Commitment
- Term of agreement is one year, with an option for renewal annually.
- 30-day notice for termination or non renewal by either party.
- Must adhere to confidentiality agreements and HIPAA regulations.
- Must adhere to conflict of interest policies.
