Are you a licensed mental health professional seeking a meaningful role in education? A public school in Council Bluffs, IA, is hiring a School Counselor to support Pre-K through 12th-grade students during the upcoming academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide onsite therapeutic services to a diverse PK12 caseload
Conduct individual counseling sessions (typically 68 students per day)
Collaborate with educators, families, and school teams to support student mental health
Contribute to behavioral and emotional development plans
Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines
Qualifications:
Master's degree (or higher) in a mental health-related field (e.g., psychology, counseling, nursing, or social work)
Current Iowa license in a field covered by Iowa licensure law (required)
Minimum of two years post-degree supervised clinical experience
Must meet criteria as a Certified Mental Health Professional by the Iowa Board of Behavioral Health
Must hold a Statement of Professional Recognition (Mental Health Professional) from the Iowa Department of Education
Experience working with school-aged children preferred
