Connections Academy East (CAE) is hiring an energetic and motivated Music Therapist for a full time position, conducting individual and group therapy with our special education students. This position is set in a therapeutic day school environment, which serves children ages 6-21 years, with Special Education Eligibility (Emotional Disability, Other Health Impairment, etc.) and high functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder presentations.

Duties of the Music Therapist include:

• Conduct individual therapy with a caseload of children/adolescents who benefit from music therapy modality
• Conduct weekly group therapy with classrooms and other small pull-out groups
• Manage the music therapy programming for the school year and develop lesson plans for groups and individuals
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary teams to implement clinical goals including emotional regulation, sensory integration, social communication, self-expression, and focus and attention
• Support students who seek performance opportunities at the school’s annual variety/talent show and Awards Ceremony
