Newark Public Schools is hiring a dedicated School Psychologist to support K12 students through comprehensive evaluations, behavioral consultation, and individualized student interventions. This full-time role offers the opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and improve educational outcomes for diverse learners.
Position Overview:
Youll play an essential role in identifying academic and behavioral needs, supporting IEP development, and guiding teachers and families through effective intervention planning and mental health strategies.
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct psychoeducational assessments and generate reports
Participate in eligibility meetings and IEP development
Provide counseling and behavioral support services
Consult with educators and parents on academic and social-emotional concerns
Support RTI/MTSS implementation across school sites
Maintain compliance and documentation standards
Qualifications:
Masters or Ed.S. in School Psychology
Valid New Jersey School Psychologist Certification through NJDOE
School-based experience preferred
Strong understanding of IDEA, behavioral interventions, and student advocacy
Excellent communication, case management, and problem-solving skills
Job Details:
Type: Full-time, onsite
Schedule: MondayFriday, standard school hours
Caseload: K12 (assignment may vary by school site)
