Job Overview
NW Pediatrics Integrative Medicine seeks a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (or licensed social worked or family mental health counselor/therapist) to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in providing comprehensive mental health care to patients, focusing on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of various psychiatric conditions. Duties
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and diagnoses.
- Provide medication management, including prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medications.
- Utilize triage skills to prioritize patient care effectively.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care for patients. Collaborate with in-house primary care physicians and specialty providers.
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records systems.
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Stay updated on ICD-10 coding for accurate billing and documentation purposes.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) (or clinical social work or mental health counseling)
- Active nursing license in the state of practice.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and families.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team environment.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, Microsoft Office, and online clinical journals/resources
- Has various therapeutics tools for helping children and families.
- Has experience working with neuro-divergent populations.
- Has knowledge about holistic interventions for mental health.
