Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated before and after school counselors to join our team. This role is essential in providing a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for students during various school programs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and possess skills in early childhood education, childcare, or related fields. Our program focuses on education first (homework assistance and tutoring), teamwork, and personal growth among students through a variety of activities.

Duties

• Supervise and engage with students during program activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Assistance with homework and tutoring as needed.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of educational and recreational activities, including sports, and arts & crafts.
• Provide support for students with special needs, ensuring an inclusive environment for all participants.
• Maintain classroom management by establishing rules and expectations that promote positive behavior.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to foster a collaborative atmosphere.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to enhance their learning experience.
• Participate in training sessions related to first aid, child development, and program-specific skills.

Requirements

• Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings is preferred.
• Background in early childhood education or related fields is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of first aid practices is a plus; certification preferred.
• Skills in sports coaching or experience leading camp activities are beneficial.
• Familiarity with creative programs is an asset.
• Strong classroom management skills to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members and adapt to the needs of students.
• A commitment to creating an inclusive environment for all children.
