Position Summary:

Orlando Hand Surgery Associates (OHSA), proudly part of Florida Orthopaedic Institute (FOI), is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) to join our growing team. The PCC serves as the central connection between our patients, providers, and clinical teams—ensuring each patient receives timely, efficient, and personalized care from consultation to recovery. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented healthcare professional who thrives in a collaborative, patient-first environment and has a passion for delivering outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between patients, providers, and support staff throughout the course of care
  • Coordinate appointments, follow-up visits, imaging, procedures, and surgical scheduling in alignment with physician protocols
  • Communicate clearly with patients regarding care plans, instructions, and expectations
  • Ensure all patient documentation is accurate and up to date within the EMR system
  • Collaborate with insurance verification and authorization teams to ensure timely approvals
  • Monitor patient progress and proactively follow up to resolve barriers to care
  • Respond to patient phone calls, messages, and inquiries in a timely, professional manner
  • Educate patients on pre- and post-operative care, medications, and next steps as directed by providers
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams to support exceptional patient outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and FOI’s patient care standards

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or clinical background preferred
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in healthcare coordination, clinic scheduling, or a patient-facing role
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and basic insurance processes
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in EMR systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm under pressure
  • Passionate about providing a smooth and supportive patient experience
