Job Summary

Outpatient psychotherapist, part time or full time, Mass General Brigham-Salem Hospital, Salem, MA: Current Social Work License (LICSW), LMHC or Licensed Psychologist in the State of MA referred but will consider Masters prepared clinicians who are working towards independent licensure.

Qualifications

Seeking 20-40 hour outpatient psychotherapists for our growing, dynamic psychiatry service. Strong preference for clinicians who are interested in working with children, adolescents, adults, seniors and families. The ideal candidate will be experienced in assessing and providing therapy to patients with diverse clinical conditions including anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, Autism, Substance Use Disorders (SUD), Attachment issues, trauma (PTSD), acute crises, and often within the context of complex family systems and/or medical compromise. Clinicians here enjoy the wide range of opportunities a hospital-based position provides including internal & external educational opportunities, inter-departmental collaboration and excellent health and educational benefits.. Most positions are hybrid with a combination of in-person and remote visits. Clinicians are encouraged to develop expanded clinical skills via training and educational opportunities within the department and internal educational benefits allow clinicians to obtain CEUs without cost.

Some teaching /individual supervision opportunities may be available

Clinicians are allowed to develop a small private practice after hours at MGB-Salem

Pediatric Outpatient Psychiatry:

This position involves participation in one or more clinical teams (Pre-school, Behavioral Medicine and General) and clinicians here enjoy a collegial environment with internal educational and research benefits. Preference for those individuals who have experience with CBT and DBT skill sets, group and short-term therapy models. Clinicians working in Pediatric Psychiatry have close collaboration with Urgent Care, Neurodevelopment, Pedi Inpatient and PHP, and community-based pediatricians.

Adult Outpatient Psychiatry:

Adult Psychotherapists see a wide range of diagnoses including MDD, anxiety disorders, OCD, SUD, and mood disorders.  Clinicians are supported by a collegial supervision model and clinical review during MDT.  Clinicians should have experience with CBT, DBT, and brief problem-solving therapies along with group experience. Close collaboration with PCPs, Inpatient Units, PHP, IOP, Urgent Care and ICMP along with the Cancer Center, Cardiology, Pain Center, and other medical specialties.

Mass General Brigham Salem Hospital psychiatry service includes 120 inpatient beds, child & adult PHPs, Neurodevelopment, IOP, and three very busy outpatient clinics. There is an extensive and full psychiatric service covering all levels of psychiatric care. MGB-Salem qualifies for the federally sponsored loan forgiveness programs. MGB-Salem Hospital is a member of the Mass General Brigham network that includes MGH, Brigham & Women’s, McLean, and other MGB institutions.
