EMIT Learning is seeking an experienced Clinical Counselor to work on our school campus in Warren, OH, for the upcoming 2025-26 school year.

Job Description for Clinical Counselor

  • No. of positions: 2
  • Location: Warren, OH
  • Start: 2nd week of August 2025
  • End date: June 2026 (Possible extension)
  • Required License/Certification: Clinical Counselor license

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to clients, utilizing various therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
  • Conduct thorough diagnostic evaluations to assess clients' mental health needs and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Offer crisis management support for clients in acute distress or experiencing mental health emergencies.
  • Deliver specialized care for PTSD patients, incorporating evidence-based practices tailored to their unique experiences.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in all client interactions and documentation.
  • Engage in Christian counseling when appropriate, integrating faith-based principles into therapeutic practices.
  • Work with pediatric populations as needed, adapting counseling techniques to suit younger clients.
  • Document client progress and treatment outcomes accurately in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Valid state licensure as a professional counselor or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in mental health counseling with demonstrated skills in therapy modalities.
  • Knowledge of crisis management techniques and experience working with diverse populations.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from various backgrounds.
  • Experience or training in pediatric counseling is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
