Position Overview:

Parents Anonymous® Inc. is looking for a dedicated and experienced Peer Workforce Recruitment Supervisor & Mental Health Counselor. This full-time leadership role combines program oversight with direct clinical support to ensure comprehensive wraparound services for Peer Workforce participants. In this role, you will supervise outreach and recruitment activities, guide onboarding and support services, and provide trauma-informed mental health counseling within a peer-led, equity-focused framework.

A Peer is an individual who is self-identified as having lived experience with the process of recovery from mental illness, substance use disorder, or both, either as a consumer of these services or as the parent or family member of the consumer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and wraparound service design in collaboration with the Director of Peer Workforce.
  • Develop quality assurance systems for all Peer Workforce engagement activities and staff.
  • Supervise community outreach to enroll a minimum of 7 eligible individuals per month per staff member.
  • Oversee all participant onboarding and orientation activities to ensure eligibility, compliance, and support.
  • Coordinate wraparound service delivery including mental health counseling, career activities, and peer programs.
  • Foster participant engagement through leadership, mentorship, and personal development opportunities.
  • Track participant progress from onboarding to placement and oversee all program milestones and documentation.
  • Deliver trauma-informed mental health counseling and coordinate care for clinical and nonclinical participant needs.
  • Provide crisis support, individual and group therapy, and conduct comprehensive clinical assessments.
  • Supervise and coach staff, interns, and volunteers to achieve recruitment and service delivery benchmarks.
  • Ensure documentation quality and compliance with all program systems and requirements.
  • Represent Parents Anonymous® across networks and events to promote peer workforce and mental health services.
  • Complete Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification and required CEUs.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or Counseling from an accredited graduate school.
  • Active ASW, AMFT, or APCC registration with California BBS and 1,000+ hours toward licensure.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English highly preferred; additional languages a plus.
  • Prior experience in employment development, workforce placement, career counseling, outreach, or peer support services is strongly preferred.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience working with parents and/or youth in clinical or social services settings.
  • Experience in individual and group therapy; familiarity with trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices required.
  • Strong skills in documentation, case management, and use of EHR platforms.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and programs, while providing leadership to interns/volunteers.
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends and participate in organization-wide events.
  • Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license to attend in-person service activities.
  • Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (three doses minimum including one booster).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $72,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
