A reasonable estimate of the current range is $97,904.30-$132.458.76.

Position Summary:

The Lead Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)/ Marriage & Family Therapist, Licensed (LMFT) role reports to the Behavioral Health Clinical Director. This role provides culturally competent clinical services including diagnostic evaluations and therapy, which are consistent with accepted standards of clinical practice and and/or case management services for individuals, couples, and/or families. This role provides behavioral health clinical supervision to the health center Associate Providers (ACSW, AMFT, APCC).

This role will have an assigned primary location but may be required to work at or travel to different locations as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide Assessment, Diagnosis, treatment planning and treatment interventions (including individual, group therapy) for children ages 5-18, adults and families systems who are managing mental illness.
  • Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports, including but not limited to intake, biopsychosocial assessment, treatment plan, treatment summaries, discharge summaries, data collection forms, and billing forms
  • Input progress notes and information related to patient treatment using an electronic patient management/health record system.
  • Act as client advocate and provide case management referral and assistance to coordinate required services or to resolve crisis situations.
  • Collaborate with other providers in a multi-disciplinary approach to perform clinical assessments and assist in implementing treatment plans.
  • Participate constructively in Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI) activities within the Department, such as peer review, case conferencing, clinical benchmarking, and QI studies.
  • Conduct crisis intervention and emotional stabilization for clients seen in other departments as needed.
  • Compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations, as they pertain to position including; HIPAA, sexual harassment, Scope of Practice, OSHA etc.
  • Actively participates in internal quality improvement teams. Works with members proactively to support quality improvement initiatives in accordance with the mission and strategic goals of the organization, federal and state laws and regulations, and accreditation standards
  • Other duties as assigned.


Clinical Supervision:

  • Provide weekly clinical supervision to ACSW’s, AMFT’s, APCC ‘s and associated administrative support, such as clinical documentation, review and completion of required paperwork at the direction of the Behavioral Health Clinical Director.
  • Coordinate or facilitate clinical/treatment meetings for case consultations.
  • Assists in conducting peer review through chart audits.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply mental health principles, diagnostic procedures for diagnosis and treatment, and various modalities of psychotherapy and counseling.
  • Ability to provide comprehensive case management and advocacy.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical issues related to patients’ rights.
  • Knowledge of community mental health resources.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Licensed in the State of California as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
  • Certified under authority of the California Board of Behavioral Sciences to supervise subordinate mental health providers, including ACSW’s, AMFT’s, APCC’s.
  • 5 years of experience in social services including mental health, substance abuse and prevention.
  • Must successfully complete the provider credentialing process in accordance with National Accreditation requirements.
  • Must have a current California driver license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an FQHC setting
  • Knowledge of traditional, cultural and spiritual practices of the diverse American Indian/Alaska Native community, as well as ability to work with other racially, culturally, ethnically, and financially diverse populations.
  • Previous experience providing clinical supervision.
  • Bilingual
