Provides psychological evaluation including intellectual and personality evaluation and evidence-based, and psychological interventions to individual patients. Works collaboratively within an interdisciplinary medical team to enhance the quality of overall healthcare services provided. Provides or assists in the supervision of psychological interns if present. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values. Provides individual, family and group psychotherapy to assigned patients as clinically appropriate. Consults effectively and efficiently with other care providers and medical staff on an interdisciplinary care team. Maintains client records to departmental standards. Provides education regarding health psychology and coping skills to Associates, the general public and other professionals as needed or requested. Performs other job functions as requested or assigned. Requires Doctorate in Psychology (Ph.D.), 1-3 years clinical healthcare experience, and Tennessee Psychologist license. Expertise in treating patients with chronic medical and psychiatric conditions, use of objective measures of intellectual and personality function, ability to work with multidisciplinary teams, and effective communication skills. Physical demands include ability to lift 50 lbs, stand, walk, climb stairs, and perform repetitive hand and wrist motions. Leads and directs psychological examiners and interns as needed.
