Expressive Therapist



The Ridge Behavioral Health System is a 110-bed hospital offering psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment for children, adolescents, and adults.



Our specialized treatment services are provided by a multidisciplinary team of highly trained psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, addiction counselors, nurses, and activity therapists.



The Ridge Behavioral Health System prides itself as being the only free-standing psychiatric hospital in the Central Kentucky area.  We have provided behavioral health services to over 92 Kentucky counties for over 39 years.

The Expressive Therapist is responsible for developing and implementing various aspects of the expressive therapy program based upon each units needs and demographics. Follows and abides by company policies, procedures, and Corporate Compliance Program, as applicable to role and responsibilities.



This opportunity is a full-time, non-exempt position and offers full benefits.



  • Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Develops and implements Recreation Therapy treatment plans in conjunction with and attends the interdisciplinary treatment team meetings.
  • Provides therapy consistent with level of growth, development, age, and functioning.
  • Provides therapy consistent with overall treatment goals.
  • Completes Recreation Therapy section of the treatment plan within 72 hours of admission for assigned patients.
  • Completes progress notes for assigned patients.

Qualifications

Qualifications



Education

Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy OR Master’s Degree in Art Education



Licensure/Certifications

Required: Board Certification (MT-BC) OR eligibility to sit for national exam conducted through the Certification Board for Music Therapist (CBMT) licensure OR LPATA with supervision or LPAT/ATR-BC required.

BLS Certification

Crisis intervention certification required - offered upon hire



Experience

Previous mental health experience preferred.

Inpatient Experience Preferred.
