We are currently offering $500.00 sign on bonuses! Bonuses are payable in two installments($250.00 with first paycheck, and $250.00 after satisfactory completion of six-month probationary period).

Rock Creek Foundation, an innovative non-profit organization located in Silver Spring, MD, is accepting Full-Time Community Development Counselor. Counselors within our Community Development Program support individuals with intellectual disabilities explore our local community, work on volunteer or employment activities, and improve their daily life skills. Their Life Coach is responsible for providing direct-care and person-centered instruction in a community-based setting in order to develop, enhance and maintain daily living, social, and community skills.

What You'll Do
- Work one on one with individuals to plan and execute daily activities including but not limited to visits to the park, local museums or retail shops, as well as accompanying them to work, group sponsored activities, appointments and social events
- Ensure individual’s safety, monitor progress towards their goals, and model appropriate behaviors
- Record daily activities in a timely manner to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies (COMAR, CARF, DDA) and Company requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and access to a personal vehicle
- A tentative work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm
- An hourly rate range is $20.00-$20.75
