About Job

The Aptus Group is looking for a dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team in the San Pedro, CA area for the 2025–2026 school year. As a Behavior Technician, you will work one-on-one with an assigned student to help meet behavioral goals. Join our team and be a part of meaningful student progress.


Pay Rate: $20 - $25 per hour

Location: San Pedro, CA 90731

Schedule: Full Time (School operating hours)

Requirements:

  • Required: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 60 college units or an AA/AS degree preferred
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience as a Behavior Therapist or Behavior Technician preferred
  • Coursework in child development, education, or psychology from an accredited institution is a plus.
  • General understanding of developmental disabilities, behavioral interventions, and instructional strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation


Responsibilities:

  • Work one-on-one with special education students in the school setting.
  • Implement behavior intervention strategies in alignment with the student’s Behavioral Intervention Plan (BIP), with guidance from the Behavior Intervention Developer and classroom teacher.
  • Demonstrate appropriate response and implementation of feedback, as provided by the Behavior Intervention Developer
  • Data collection & data analysis on specific behaviors and skill’s targets for child development
  • Follow outlined company policies, guidelines, and protocols (including clinical & administrative)
  • Attend scheduled meetings and training
