First Responder Trauma Counselors (FRTC) is seeking 2 dedicated and flexible Part-Time Clinicians to join our team. This role requires flexibility and a passion for serving first responders and frontline workers. Clinicians will work in varied environments—including in-office, field visits, and crisis response situations. Some evening and weekend availability is required to align with the dynamic schedules of emergency service professionals. The ideal candidate will be personable, clinically skilled, and comfortable delivering both one-on-one care and group counseling and training.
- Position A: Monday–Wednesday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (on-call every 3rd week, Sunday–Wednesday)
- Position B: Wednesday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (on-call every 3rd week, Wednesday–Saturday)
Shared Coverage Note: Wednesdays are shared between both positions, providing collaborative overlap and ensuring continuity of care. This job-share arrangement offers built-in flexibility between the two clinicians to accommodate scheduling needs and coverage for one another when appropriate.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSClinical Services
- Provide in-house counseling sessions and field-based crisis intervention as needed.
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments for clients requiring behavioral health care.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation via FRTC’s clinical platform.
Crisis Response
- Respond promptly to phone calls, emails, and pager notifications from member agency personnel.
- Deliver on-site and in-home crisis evaluations when necessary.
- Facilitate critical incident defusings and/or processings at the request of member agencies.
- Coordinate and participate in therapeutic gatherings as requested.
Training & Education
- Plan and deliver psychoeducational training and presentations on mental health, wellness, and resilience to first responders and agency personnel.
- Oversee and coordinate agency-specific training provided by both internal and external trainers.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Participate in clinical consultation and referral coordination.
- Support Peer Support Teams with clinical insight and guidance.
- Assist in onboarding and mentoring new team members.
- Provide temporary coverage for other non-clinical roles as needed.
- Coordinate scheduling and caseload coverage with the co-clinician in the job-share arrangement to ensure service continuity
Compliance & Professional Development
- Stay informed on relevant Colorado state laws and best practices in trauma-focused treatment for first responders.
Education & Licensure
- Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field.
- Active licensure (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, PhD) in Colorado, or candidate status with supervision eligibility.
- Supervision toward licensure may be provided under Colorado DORA guidelines.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in emergency services, trauma, or crisis care.
- Prior experience working with first responder populations is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a plus; interest in psychedelic-informed therapy is welcomed.
Technical & Interpersonal Skills
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and EHR systems.
- Excellent verbal/written communication; ability to connect empathetically with clients.
- Strong public speaking and facilitation skills.

- Flexible availability including evenings and weekends.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $53,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 per week
