Department: Master of Social Work (MSW)

Job Type: Full Time Faculty

Education: MSW from a CSWE accredited program or equivalency established and a PhD or DSW in Social Work required.

Job Description: The full-time faculty member in the MSW Program reports to the Director of the Master of Social Work Program. The faculty will be responsible for teaching 24 credits online or on ground within a calendar year within the social work program. The faculty member will ensure that course and student learning outcomes are met through teaching, learning and experiential experiences. The faculty member is also required to participate in the mission and governance of Anna Maria College. Within the MSW Program, the faculty member is expected to contribute to a collegiate and highly collaborative working environment focused on student learning and on-going curriculum development and assessment, to reflect relevant knowledge and skills needed within the field of Social Work. In addition to teaching and scholarship, the individual is expected to contribute their service to the College and the wider community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching responsibilities:

  • Promote high standards of academic achievement and integrity in assigned courses.
  • Implement established course syllabi and develop new syllabi in accordance with CSWE and College standards in collaboration with the Program Director.
  • Assure course content is consistent among all sections of said course.
  • Prepare for and conduct class sessions in support of course and student learning outcomes, utilizing equipment and technologies as appropriate.
  • Review student work and report grades to students in a timely manner.
  • Maintain student file documentation according to college and program procedures.
  • Engage and participate in professional development initiatives to enhance instructional strategies.
  • Post and hold regular office hours for student conferences, advising, etc. (at least 6 hrs. per week) and respond to students in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a campus presence of three days per week, with remote availability on the fourth day/ A fully remote position is available for our online MSW Program

Responsibilities within the Social Work Program:

  • Participate in program meetings and activities, such as staff meeting.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, review, and revision.
  • Collaborate in the timely development of each semester's schedule of courses.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Participate in student recruitment initiatives.
  • Participates in and reports all required assessment data as required for program, college and CSWE accreditation
  • Other responsibility as assigned by the MSW Program Director

Responsibilities to the College:

  • Contribute to a collaborative and collegial working atmosphere within the MSW Program and the College, supporting the stated missions, philosophies and goals.
  • Participate in all faculty development- Professional Development training, Academic Affair and assessment days.
  • Attend and participate in Faculty Assembly meetings.
  • Participate in college events such as Baccalaureate and Commencement ceremonies, and other faculty and student events, as appropriate.
  • Employ communication systems, technologies and policies in service of the smooth operation of the institution.
  • Adhere to provisions described within the Faculty Guidebook and Faculty Handbook.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MSW from an CSWE accredited program or equivalency established
  • Advanced Clinical License (LCSW/ LICSW) required for clinical practice classes
  • PhD or DSW in Social Work required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MSW from an CSWE accredited program or equivalency established
  • LCSW/ LICSW required for clinical practice classes
  • PhD or DSW in Social Work required
  • Minimum four years' post masters experience in the practice/ teaching in field of social work
  • Previous teaching on the BSW/MSW level or other college level teaching preferred
  • Experience teaching advanced clinical practice and research courses preferred
  • Online teacher experience preferred
