- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to create and implement response plans;
- Guiding Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) and supporting faculty with implementing approved accommodations; and
- Coordinating school-day standardized testing, including PSAT, SAT, ACT, and AP exams.
- Co-leads the Advisory and Character Education Program at the secondary level, making effective use of class time, resources, and teacher partnerships
- Counsels both individual and student groups on a variety of topics including academic course work and course selection, time management, stress reduction, study skills, and making healthy decisions
- Works collaboratively with the Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) Committee; observe students in and out of classroom environments,
- Assists with recommendations for classroom teachers and parents and coordinate the implementation of ADA accommodations within the Division;
- Serves as Chair for the Division Student Wellness Team
- Monitors student achievement and facilitates intervention on the students' behalf when a pattern of need emerges
- Identifies students at-risk for academic failure and works with those students to implement a plan for improvement
- Serves as the Upper School standardized testing coordinator for PSAT, SAT, and ACT administered on a school day
- Meets with parents to foster a collaborative approach to student achievement
- Supports students and the School with crisis intervention
- Assists with and participates in the development and implementation of support and prevention programs
- Participates in family programming, as requested by the Division Head
- Master's Degree in Counseling (or similar program) is preferred
- Licensure or certification in school counseling, school psychology, social work or closely related field required
- Minimum 3 years experience as a school counselor, preferably in an private/independent school environment
